The End Begins
Seventeen years ago, I wrote my first blog in this space. The first words were inspired by an idea: that conscious, connected, and capable humans—committed to a common purpose and disciplined in their care for one another—will achieve a success beyond numbers.
That belief has guided every word since.
With fascination for that idea, I offer this final entry.
After nearly 1,000 blogs and 27 years of partnering with collaborative leaders around the world (and delivering the Energy Map approximately 15,196 times 😊), it’s with a fast-beating heart and captivated eyes that I look toward the future—and step away from this platform and Verus Global.
It’s time. And it feels right.
Moving forward, clients of Verus Global will continue to do big things as the result of deeply aligned teams uncommon in today’s hyper-stressed workplace. My uber-talented colleagues are bringing fresh voices and exciting interpretations of the timeless truths that built this company.
This seems like an ending. Yet, as every transition teaches, quality endings are required to generate remarkable beginnings.
Follow Your Bliss
The brilliant Joseph Campbell said that your purpose is revealed to you when you “follow your bliss.” By this, he meant that when you pursue your authentic calling, operate with an internal rightness, and embrace your life (however difficult it may be), you touch transcendence.
You become alive to the degree that you forget destinations and time.
Pursuing my bliss required others to generously allow me to join them in theirs. If there were words to effectively express gratitude beyond thank you, I’d use them. Because it’s only with you that I’ve learned and experienced:
- The transformative power of realizing everyone you interact with wants to be great—and already is great.
- The remarkable courage of leaders who prioritize the human imperative as the surest path to achieving a business imperative.
- The enduring truth that changing human behavior is never just an intellectual exercise—it’s the business of the heart.
Your integrity, your generous insights, and your insistence on building workplaces of meaning have been the reason this work matters. And will continue to matter.
May you continue to follow your bliss—boldly, humbly, and with the conviction that what begins in the heart never ends. It evolves.
We evolve. Together.
